The Daily Mirror audience is older with almost half the audience aged 65+. In terms of social class, most are in the C1, C2 DE social classes. They are likely to be in the Struggler, Resigned or Mainstream psychographic groups. 

2) Why do the Mirror stories on the CSP pages appeal to the Daily Mirror audience?
The newspaper is a tabloid meaning its a more cheap and gossip based newspaper which appeals to the audience.

3) Why might a reader enjoy the Daily Mirror? Use Blumler & Katz Uses and Gratifications theory to add detail to your answer.
One reason is they might like to read other people opinions and compare them to their own beliefs which relates to diversion/entertainment.

4) Why are print newspapers generally read by older audiences?
Older people struggle to use technology which effects how they choose to get their information which means they are more likely to read a physical newspaper rather than search online for the recent news.

5) How are the CSP pages constructed to appeal to Daily Mirror readers? Think about text and selection of images.
The Daily Mirror uses less writing and more images to appeal to the working-class audience. They also use bold writing to highlight the more important aspects of the newspaper however they might also use bold writing to appeal to the elder audience.

The Daily Mirror is owned by Reach, which used to be called Trinity Mirror. Reach publishes over 240 regional titles in addition to the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror. The Daily Mirror is struggling because of the rise of the internet and that news is now digitalised
2) Who was the Daily Mirror editor between 2018 and 2024 and what was the Partygate scandal that the Daily Mirror exposed?  
The Daily Mirror's editor was Allison Phillips. The Partygate scandal is what brought down the PM Boris Johnsons and that he was at a party during covid times and a day before Philips funeral
3) What is the Daily Mirror's circulation? How many papers did the Daily Mirror used to sell back in the 1990s?
The Daily Mirror sales dropped significantly more than 4 million and went down to 200k in 2025
4) How has the Daily Mirror reacted to the decline in print sales and the growth of the internet?
 The Daily Mirror created the mirror.co.uk website and social media accounts on all the major sites. The Daily Mirror provides this online content for free. Some newspapers (e.g. The Times) have a paywall on their online content which means that they charge subscription fees to read articles. The Daily Mirror created news based content that updates regularly, is shared on social media channels, includes a range of video content and encourages audience involvement.
