Blog feedback and learner response.

WWW: I’m really impressed with your blog work so far – you have made an excellent start to GCSE Media. Your fruit bowls are absolutely stunning and also show you were able to take on the tricky extension task with ‘paste into’ used brilliantly. Keep up the good work!

EBI:  The key area to work on is the depth and detail of your written work – for example, for denotation and connotation you could offer more for the ‘connotation’ and ‘analysis’ parts as this is where you need to offer a range of meanings to access the top levels. Similarly, for the Stranger Things analysis you need to say much more about the potential connotations or deeper meanings that each aspect of mise-en-scene communicates.

LR: Create a new blogpost on your Media blog called ‘Blog feedback and Learner Response’. Copy and paste this WWW/EBI feedback into your blogpost then complete the LR tasks/questions below.

Reflect on your first month of Media. What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far? What is your weakest? What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?

I think my strongest piece of work was the fruit bowl task. I enjoyed using photoshop for the first time and I understood the tools needed to complete the assignment.

However my weakest piece of work was the mise-en-scene task. This is because even though I completed it, I struggled on what to write for some parts of CLAMPS and how I could put my ideas about the task in to words to put into the task.

Some specific skills I might need for the rest of the course might be to learn more about photoshop or editing since I feel like that I need these skills to continue the rest of the year and maybe into year 11.
